🇧🇼 Botswana 🇧🇼

Botswana is known for high-quality wildlife experiences, pristine ecosystems, and some of Africa’s best safari environments. From the Okavango Delta’s waterways to Chobe’s elephant herds and the salt pans of Makgadikgadi, it’s a destination where nature takes centre stage.

The country focuses on conservation and low-impact tourism, which means wildlife areas feel less crowded but can be more expensive. However, backpackers can still explore through public campsites, mobile safaris, day trips, and self-drive routes. The rewards for wildlife lovers are huge.

Weather stays warm, with a dry winter ideal for spotting animals. Botswana works perfectly alongside Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe for longer overland itineraries.
